about us
Friends Melissa Tokarski and Kayla Nikolai started Herbal Explorers in North Central Wisconsin, USA in 2024. Melissa Tokarski's curiosity about plants has grown into a passion for educating others about herbs. She has invested in her continuous education on beneficial plants of the Great Lakes region, their characteristics, energies, and the theoretical ways they could help support our bodies. Kayla Nikolai has casually built a relationship with plants through cooking, a love for tea, and the desire for a natural, more resourceful lifestyle. Her herbal knowledge has grown through herbal books, interacting with plants in nature, online research, and friends like Melissa!

Melissa and Kayla feel passionately about empowering everyone to learn to identify and use the beneficial plants likely growing all around them.

Together they offer small, lively classes on herbs and wildcrafting for all levels of interest. Participants often create useful, beautiful, fun, and sometimes tasty items at each event.

Host a plant talk at YOUR LOCATION (group). See what herbs may be growing in your own backyard! (Please consider local foraging laws. Unsure? Let's chat!)

So, let's see what's growing outside!
